Brand Awareness for Recyclobot with Instructional
This Recyclobot was created by Pare Design as part of a case study to create brand awareness for recycling. This case study is generated towards children where not only can recycling be fun, but also educational through colors and content across all products produced.
Assignment
Pare Design was given the opportunity to design a bot made out of recycled materials, create a poster, instructions and facts geared towards children. In the process of designing this recyclobot, Pare Design had to also keep in mind that this product must be kid friendly and unique to each child based on materials found around the house.
Objective
For this project Pare Design created a logo for the Recyclobot based on well known everyday objects that are familiar to most people. The design and concept is to send out weekly as Recyclobot packages to our customers in which they will receive a box with instructions and materials of a new bot to make for children ages 6-10 years old. In the box will be the materials that can’t be found at home, a poster of the completed Recyclobot and an instructional so the child knows how to create the bot.
Execution
The recyclobot logo is the face of the brand and the brand awareness that consists of key elements derived towards children and recycling. Pare Design incorporated elements from the robot in the logo design but after some trial and error I had decided to lean towards a more generic logo concept. Through incorporating type and symbols that represented robots and recycling, I had incorporated gears to tie everything together as a whole.
In the early stages of designing it was a challenge to not loose the type or distort it where it was hard to read. Once I started on the right track it was only a matter of making it feel more kid friendly. The use of brighter colors that pertained to the robot had created the most visual impact.
In the design, I wanted to show that even though it is a robot that children can play with, I had also wanted to make aware that it’s a recyclable robot and it’s made out of everyday items. The green in the logo represents the earth and to recycle and keep our planet healthy. I went with the brighter green to give it more life and vibrance. The bright blue represents the water on earth and to recycle and not only help the earth but the water as well.
All elements on the bot are recyclable and we want others to see both the logo and the bot in relation together and to be more aware of items that you can recycle.
